Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Cove Space accesses, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use the Cove Space mobile application.
Effective and last updated: 30 September 2026The short version: private vault files remain encrypted on your device and are not uploaded to Cove Space servers. Account providers, analytics, and advertising services process limited information needed to provide their respective features.
1. Who provides Cove Space
Cove Space is provided by Deepak Vijayakumaran Nair Rajeswari Amma. In this policy, “Cove Space,” “we,” and “us” refer to the application and its developer.
By using Cove Space, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
2. Information Cove Space processes
Account and authentication information
Cove Space requires an account sign-in. Depending on the provider and information you choose to share, the authentication process may handle:
- Your name and email address
- A unique account identifier and selected sign-in provider
- Authentication tokens needed to keep you signed in securely
- IP address, device, app, and security information used by the authentication provider to operate the service and prevent abuse
Authentication is provided using Google authentication services, including Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple where available. Cove Space does not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
Photos, videos, folders, and private files
Files you add to the private vault are encrypted on your device and stored locally. They are separated according to the signed-in Cove Space account and are not uploaded by Cove Space to its servers.
Decrypted copies are created temporarily when you choose to view, play, or share a file. Cove Space removes its temporary decrypted copies when the decrypted-media session ends. Operating-system behavior, backups, interruptions, or sharing with another application may affect copies stored outside Cove Space.
After selected files are encrypted, Cove Space asks whether you want to keep or delete the originals from your device’s photo library. Originals are deleted only when you explicitly choose that option and approve any operating-system confirmation.
PIN and encryption information
Your four-digit PIN is linked to the signed-in account on that device. The PIN is not transmitted to us. A protected PIN verifier and encryption key material are stored using secure storage provided by the device operating system.
Analytics information
Cove Space uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand reliability and how app features are used. Analytics may process information such as:
- App launches, screen views, feature interactions, and general event outcomes
- App version, device model, operating-system version, language, and general device information
- Installation identifiers, IP address, and diagnostic or performance information
Cove Space’s custom analytics events do not intentionally include email addresses, names, PINs, filenames, folder names, file paths, decrypted media details, or other private vault content. Analytics advertising-ID collection and default ad-personalization signals are disabled in the Android app configuration.
Advertising and consent information
Cove Space uses Google AdMob to display rewarded advertisements before access to certain features and Google User Messaging Platform to manage advertising consent. Subject to your device settings, consent choices, applicable law, and Google’s configuration, these services may process:
- Advertising, app-set, or other device identifiers
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device, operating-system, and app information
- App interactions, ad views, clicks, and reward completion
- Diagnostic, security, and fraud-prevention information
- Advertising consent and privacy choices
Where required, Cove Space presents advertising-consent or privacy options. You can revisit available choices through the account menu in the app.
Purchase information
When you buy a yearly subscription or lifetime access, Apple App Store or Google Play processes the transaction and may provide Cove Space with a product identifier, transaction or purchase token, purchase state, receipt or signed purchase data, and subscription status. Cove Space uses this information to provide, restore, and verify Private access on your device. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
3. Device permissions
- Photos and videos: used when you select existing media to add. Cove Space uses the operating system’s media picker where supported.
- Camera: used only when you choose to capture a new photo or video.
- Microphone: used only when recording a video that includes audio.
You can deny or revoke permissions in device settings. Features requiring a denied permission may not work.
4. How information is used
We and our service providers may use information to:
- Authenticate and manage your account
- Keep different users’ vault information separated on the device
- Encrypt, decrypt, display, play, and share files at your request
- Store and verify the account-specific device PIN
- Measure app use, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability
- Display and measure rewarded advertisements
- Obtain and respect advertising-consent choices
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Service providers and sharing
Cove Space relies on third-party services to operate specific features:
- Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In for account authentication
- Sign in with Apple for Apple account login where available
- Google Analytics for Firebase for app analytics
- Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform for advertisements and advertising consent
- Apple and Google operating-system services for secure storage, media selection, camera, microphone, and sharing
These providers process information under their own privacy policies and legal obligations. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Cove Space does not sell your private files or directly sell personal information. Some jurisdictions may classify certain advertising-related transfers as “sharing” or a “sale.” Where required, available advertising privacy choices can be accessed in the app.
Files you choose to share
When you use the Share feature, Cove Space provides a temporary decrypted copy to the operating system’s sharing interface. The application or person you select may receive and retain the file. Their handling is governed by their own policies, and Cove Space cannot control or delete copies after you intentionally share them.
6. Storage, security, and retention
Cove Space uses local file encryption, operating-system secure storage for keys and PIN verification information, account-specific separation, temporary decrypted sessions, and reauthentication before sensitive account actions.
Encrypted vault files, folders, encryption keys, PIN verification information, and tutorial preferences remain on the device until you delete the account in Cove Space, remove the application, clear its app data, or the operating system removes the data. Authentication, analytics, advertising, and diagnostic providers may retain information according to their policies and applicable legal requirements.
No security method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, device passcode, sign-in account, and Cove Space PIN.
7. Account and data deletion
Open Cove Space’s three-dot account menu and select Delete account. You must reauthenticate using the login method associated with the current account before confirming deletion.
Cove Space then attempts to delete the authentication account, revoke applicable Apple authorization, delete the account’s local encrypted files and folders, remove temporary decrypted files, remove the PIN verifier and encryption key, and delete local tutorial preferences.
Deleting Cove Space does not delete your Google or Apple account. Files previously shared, exported, copied, or backed up elsewhere must be deleted separately.
If you cannot access the app, use the external account-deletion request page.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about personal-information processing. You can also revoke permissions in device settings, revisit available advertising privacy choices, reset your advertising identifier, sign out, delete your Cove Space account, or uninstall the app.
To make a privacy request, email covespace0@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity.
9. Children’s privacy
Cove Space is not directed to children under 13 or the applicable minimum age required to consent to data processing in their country. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information in violation of applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
10. International processing
Authentication, analytics, and advertising providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence under their policies, contractual safeguards, and applicable laws. Private vault files remain locally on your device unless you intentionally share, export, or back them up using another service.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will show a revised “Last updated” date.
